A space we helped find has now earned one of the Triangle's highest design honors.
"The design feels more like an exploration than a dental visit."
— AIA Triangle, 2026 Design Award Recipients
We're proud to celebrate our clients at Cary Pediatric Dentistry, who were recently recognized by the AIA Triangle Chapter with an Interior Architecture honor award — the first ever given in this category. The project was designed by Studio 310, and the judges called it a unanimous "slam dunk."
Here's how AIA Triangle described the space:
Cary Pediatric Dentistry's new home is a refreshing take on healthcare design, trading typical clinic vibes for a sense of restrained playfulness. This project was recognized for its ability to create an environment that sparks curiosity without being overstimulating. By organizing the clinic around clearly articulated volumes and carving out spaces that reveal pops of color and texture, the design feels more like an exploration than a dental visit.
The recognition also points to the brilliant use of daylight as a primary material, which works with a soft, calibrated palette to keep the atmosphere calm and clear. Behind the scenes, the efficient clinical planning ensures that circulation is intuitive for both staff and families, making the entire experience feel easy and welcoming. It is a thoughtful balance of imagination and discipline that perfectly reflects the mission of providing a warm, engaging space for young patients and their caregivers.
At BOLD, we work hard to match our clients with spaces that can grow with their vision. Seeing Cary Pediatric Dentistry not only thrive in their new home but earn national recognition for it is exactly what we're in this business for. Congratulations to Dr. Molina, Dr. Elliott, and the entire Studio 310 team.
